hipsterrunoff is quite possibly the most pointless blog i've ever laid my eyes on. the dude just rambles on about shit nobody really cares about but since he knows how to use bright colors and make homemade image macros i guess it makes him a cool guy.

then again the whole idea of being a "hipster" is all about appearance instead of substance

what does he rule at, though? talking about second-rate music acts while trying to figure out what his sense of style is, knowing that he's probably just as bad as the high school kids buying $80 pre-torn jeans at abercrombie and fitch?

there's no rhyme or reason to his blogging. take away the trendy stylesheet and his posting habits align with a 15 year old girl on livejournal.

or a bemani player with aspergers, god knows we have enough of those around to compare him to

Complaining about HRO being a bad blog is like complaining about Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! being a bad show. That's the point.

His entire blog is based on anti-humor and talking like an extreme hipster that make people cringe in every day life. He is the word "hipster" personified in a faux internet celeb. The blog used to be serious and he posted lots of music of up and coming artist like Gorilla vs BEar, Electroclash, The Lemur Blog, etc. I guess he strayed away from that to avoid being a carbon copy and drew his own audience.

I like his "Let's Get Vulnerable", AnCo, and "Myspacers worth blogging about" series. Shame he doesn't do stuff like that more often.
